QUICKY MARINARA SAUCE

SERVES 1 1/2 CUPS (368G)

  • 1 can (14.5 oz., or 410 g) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
  • Salt, to taste

    METHOD

    In a small saucepan, combine all the ingredients and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes, or until hot and slightly thickened.

    Use right away or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
    RECIPE NOTES

    If the marinara is too acidic for you, add 1/2 teaspoon organic cane sugar along with the herbs and spices.
